1.Availability
Before a booking is made the purpose of the let must be agreed and the Management Committee reserve the right to turn down any request for hire.
The hall is usually available between the hours of 9am and midnight.  Times outwith these hours will be subject to negotiation.  The hours for a let must be agreed in advance and the finishing time strictly adhered to.
Persons hiring the hall must be aged 18 or over.

2.Reservations
Reservations should be made by contacting the Bookings Secretary who will confirm the fee and deposit.  An invoice will be issued which may be taken as confirmation of the booking.

3.Deposit
A deposit is paid to cover the cost of damages or extra cleaning that may required.

4. Payment
Payment of the fee and the deposit should be made 14 days in advance of the date of the hire in the form of 2 cheques made out to Port of Menteith Village Hall.  The cheque for the deposit will be returned if no costs are due.  The hirer will be responsible for the costs of any damages or cleaning that may be required and these costs will, in the first instance, be deducted from the deposit.

5.Cancellation
If a reservation is cancelled, the hirer should notify the booking secretary immediately.  The hire charges will be returned less a 10% fee to cover costs unless an alternative booking can be secured.

6.Entry
Keys are available by arrangement with the booking secretary who should be contacted to make arrangements.

7.Responsibility
The hirer is responsible for the safety and security of the event.  He/she must understand the evacuation procedures.  Emergency doors must be kept clear at all times.

8.Cleaning
The hirer is responsible for cleaning and tidying the hall, including the kitchen and toilets, after the let so that it is in the same condition as when it was taken over.  Rubbish must be left in the containers provided ready to be uplifted by the Council.

9.Licences
The hirer must obtain a licence for alcohol if required.

10.Insurance
The hall insurance does not cover the property of the hirer and their guests.

11.Smoking
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the hall.  Cigarette ends must be put in the cigarette

bin provided outside the hall.

12.Departure
All lights, heaters and electric appliances must be turned off at the end of the period of use.  The key should be returned as agreed.
